Jackie plays a country boy who rescues a gang boss. Jackie becomes the head of a gang through the purchase of some lucky roses from an old lady. Jackie and a singer at the gang’s nightclub try to do a good deed for the old rose-seller when her daughter comes to visit, all this while battling a rival gang. And this is a story of Singh is Kinng.

Enough about the "inspiration" part. Let’s talk about the movie, once you overlook this so called inspiration [or shameless copy], the movie is not that bad, it’s actually a good timepass.

Akshay Kumar [Happy] is a bachalor who lives in a same village Dharmendra is from [in reality], Happy always tries to help everybody but ending up creating chaos in people’s lives, so the villagers [Om puri, Guggi and Khayali] draws a plan where they send Happy to bring back Don called "King" who is originally from their village to visit King’s sick parents who are still staying in the village. So Akshay and Om puri setout to bring back King from Australia and accidently board a flight to Egypt where he meets Katrina before flying back to Australia. From here on the movie follows the exact same line as the Jackie Chan movie.

Here the gang boss is "King", the rose lady is played by Kirron Kher, the dauther and his fiance is played by Katrina Kaif [otherwise how Akshay will meet his heroine Katrina] and Ranbir. There is also Jaaved Jaafri as King’s partially blind and deaf brother, who is really funny and also Neha Dhupia, such a waste of great actress and hot body :-). There are still really funny moments in the movie though. Direction wise Anees Bazmee is becoming a new Priyadarshan..

The punjabi words sometimes are not understandable [ofcourse as I am not punjabi], but still the whole punjabi accent and the loudness is really cute and funny.

The music is nice but couple of songs were so loud, specially bass that the theatre speakers were destorting. The end song sung by Snoop Dogg was good.

Katrina and Akshay looked nice as always, Ompuri was doing justice to his role, Neha Dhupia was a wasting her talent in a no good role, other casts were just fillers.

Overall one time watch, and may be it will get repeat audience as it’s classed as a comedy with good music and you are not getting bored while watching the movie.

WALL-E - The best animation movie of the year so far...

The first time I saw the trailor of WALL-E, I just fell in love with the character WALL-E. The movie proved much better than the trailer.

The overview of the story is: The earth is so polluted that human race has abandoned earth and moved to somewhere in the space and they are living in a luxury spaceship like modern day luxury cruise ships, with lots of entertainment and nothing to do for humans as all the work is done by robots.

While selfish mankind is relaxing on the luxury cruise space sheep for last 700 years, on earth there in one guy [robot] working and cleaning out mess created by human race, his name is WALL-E [Waste Allocation Load Lifter - E

Delete Photo
arth-Class]. For 700 years WALL-E and his kind is doing one job and one job only, collect all the waste from surrounding areas, compact it [in a crusher in his tummy] and arrange it in piles. While doing this WALL-E also found some items which interests him and he keeps them in his garage like home, also WALL-E has a friend, a live one!! a small cockroach!! who follows WALL-E wherever he goes. The chemestry[!] between WALL-E and the cockroach is really great, without saying a word they communicate lot of affection for each other. Also, WALL-E has a favourite hobby!! watching songs from the movie Hello Dolly!! specially the scene where the man and woman hold their hands... [how sweet!!].

But one day, his life is changed, A spaceship lands near his area and there he sees the most beautiful but most modern female robot he has ever seen!! EVE [I swear I hear EVA in the movie...].. And our cute little hero falls in love with EVE at first sight... but EVE has other plans!! What? Where did she came from? Will she falls in love with WALL-E? What will WALL-E do to win EVE’s heart? Kyaa yeh Low Tech aur High Tech ka milan ho paayega? Kyaa yeh high tech Samaaj, hamare Low Tech WALL-E ko apana pyaar haasil karne dega?? Jaanane ke liye dekhe... Shaitani chudel ka badla.. ;-) just joking... Go and Watch WALL-E! you will not going to regret it... I promise, if you don’t like it. I will give you your money back!

More ABout the movie:

Pixar has done it again.. After the cutest sea fish Nemo, they have created even cuter and loveable character called WALL-E. A robot but by no means heartless... WALL-E has a heart of a greatest lover like Raanza or Romeo and determination like Sachin Tendulkar to win EVE’s heart.

The way Pixar has created the robot and the way they have shown his daily routine without any dialog [there are few dialogs like the words WALL-E and EVE are there, which sounds so heavenly.. that you yourself will repeat WALL-E and EVE [in WALL-E’s voice] long after you watched the movie..] the first half or the sequences in Earth are the best part of the movie, without any dialog the characters are communicating so much of warmth, humour and love that you will just not notice that you are watching a cartoon movie, and the characters are not talking to eachother!

The Second half is more like your regular adventure movie with fight scenes and escapes etc, which is also very much fun.. but nothing can beat the first half.

All and all, amazing movie with heart and soul and power to melt your heart. Go and Watch it, I know you will love it!

<georss:box>23.784945500000003 -59.900196999999935 79.2343025 59.631053000000065</georss:box>

The Happening! Not happening at all!!!

Spent £27 on two tickets of this movie this weekend. Just wanted it to be avarage movie with bit of drama, suspense and some good logic behind it! but after watching this mutlimillion blockbuster??!! I am highly disappointed. M Night Syamalan has totally lost his edge as a director, It’s not as half as the signs or the Village.. The story is about something happens in the environment in North Eastern US States of New York and Pennsilvania which switch off people’s sense of safety and they started to kill themselves, throwing themselves from roofs, shooting themselves etc.
The protagonist of the movie Elliot Moore(Mark Wahlberg) is a professor in the university in Pennsilvania and suddenly find himself in the middle of this madness where people are killing themselves around him and he leads group of people to safety as far as possible from the centre of the action, can he save them? can he save himself? What’s the reason behind this phenomena, is it a terrorist attack or is it an act of nature or aliens? You will find out the reason only if you watch The Happening... [Not worth watching though] The concept is really engaging but the narration and the suspense is not unfortunately..
But is it worth watching in the theatres? NO... Seriously watch it when a DVD is out or when it’s on the TV, don’t waste your money... Really disappointed on M Night Syamalan, I think this is the second movie produced by UTV with big hollywood production house, though they may have already recovered the money from the bumper US opening and decent Euroean showing I don’t think many people liked it, especialy critics and people like me who spent fortune on watching the movie despite have their unlimited monthly movies card... :-( All and a poor effort from M Night Syamalan and another time waster...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://ukfilmreview.blogspot.com/2011/07/happening-not-happening-at-all.html' title='The Happening! But once the lights got dimmed and the screen came to life, I just drifted in the intense performances and tight storylines without any fat!!... That’s what Ramu is known for and somehow before this movie he has lost his grip on the film making, but with Sarkar Raj, Ramu is back and back with a bang!!

The story is also gripping, it started off where the first movie Sarkar ended, with Abhishake bacchan having cup of tea!! But as soon as you see him sitting there in the chair you instantly know that you are here for reallly good ride, with power packed performances from The Bacchans, pretty bahu Aish and all the baddies, but the main surprise is the guy who is the grandson of Rao Saab... The boy has a power and stroke of acting too.. Subtle performances from Raao Saab and the wife of Amitabh [Supriya pathak] and small role from Victor Banergee too.

This how an indiam novie should be made, cut out all the fat, just concentrate on story and the performances, be true to your story and audiences and the movie will be great. Not a single unnecessary shot or piece of music! And to top it all the suspense!! when you thought you have seen it all, the suspense will clean bold you!

All and all a great movie, one of the best from Ramu and worth every penny.. 5/5. A must watch!

<georss:box>51.322796399999994 -0.39052969999999393 51.6775084 0.1380573000000061</georss:box>
